School Fee Details

In the interests of parents and students, information of school fees approved under the Education Regulations (Cap. 279, Subsidiary Legislation) is placed on this website for public reference. The data provided should not be used for purposes other than the above specified purpose. Parents and students should also check the school fees and fees per instalment approved by the Education Bureau as printed on the Fees Certificate, which is exhibited at a prominent position in the school, before enrolling for any courses. They should not pay the annual school fees in one lump sum. In case of enquiries, please consult the School Development Officer concerned.

Unless previously approved in writing by the Permanent Secretary for Education, no supervisor, manager or teacher shall charge any fees or any school fees other than the inclusive fees as printed on the Fees Certificate. If prior approval has been obtained for collection of fees other than the inclusive fees, such approval must be kept conspicuously exhibited together with the Fees Certificate at a prominent position in the school.

Unless otherwise permitted in writing by the Permanent Secretary for Education, the inclusive fees for an educational course shall be calculated on an equal monthly basis and collected on or after the first school day of each month of the period during which the educational course is conducted.

The school may require a pupil to register for an educational course by paying the first monthly installment not earlier than one month before the commencement of the educational course.

The payment of every sum of money by or on behalf of a pupil to a supervisor, manager or teacher shall be forthwith acknowledged in writing by such supervisor, manager or teacher on a proper form of receipt.

No change in the inclusive fee shall be made without the written approval of the Permanent Secretary for Education.

The provisions for collection of fees are stipulated in Regulations 60 to 63, 65, 67 and 101 of the Education Regulations.

Information of school fees on this website does not include course and fee information of:

  • organisations exempted from the Education Ordinance and those which are not required to obtain registration (including organizations which merely offer courses of skill training, interest class or in-house staff training); and
  • schools exempted from Regulations 61, 62(1), 65, 66 and 67 of the Education Regulations on Fees and Collections under Education (Exemption) (Private Schools Offering Non-formal Curriculum) Order. Please click here for details on Education (Exemption) (Private Schools Offering Non-formal Curriculum) Order (L.N. 76 of 2004) and click here for Resolution of the Legislation Council (L.N. 113 of 2004).

Besides, some organizations offer courses and issue non-local higher or professional qualifications. These courses should be under the Non-local Higher and Professional Education (Regulation) Ordinance (Cap. 493). For details, please contact the Non-local Courses Registry under this Bureau at 2520 0559 / 2520 0255.

Please click here for information on school fees approved under the Education Regulations. For updated fees information of private schools offering non-formal curriculum, please approach schools direct.
